Most cruise ships dock in Oranjestad for 6–8 hours. That’s enough time for one real excursion — not a checklist of five. Here’s how to pick, ranked by how much time you actually have.
If you have 4 hours or less
Skip the desert, go straight to the water. Your best options: a snorkel catamaran cruise leaving directly from a downtown marina, or a private snorkeling trip near Baby Beach or Boca Catalina.
Skip this if under 4 hours
Any full-island jeep or UTV safari. The Natural Pool alone is roughly 30–40 minutes each way from the cruise terminal.
If you have 5–6 hours
This is the sweet spot for a half-day UTV or jeep tour hitting 3–4 landmark stops. Confirm the tour’s stated duration includes pickup time. Also realistic: a half-day catamaran sail with snorkeling and lunch.
If you have 7+ hours
Now a full-island tour or a luxury lagoon cruise with lunch becomes realistic without rushing back.
